Update alert !

Here is what has been happening in my world and why I haven’t done a blog for a while

So our life has been pretty hectic at the moment. Hence why I haven’t done a blog since November. So to put it into perspective I have been working full time as well as getting ready for a big transition within my business that I have been gradually getting ready and building up and which I cannot wait to tell you about, there will be an announcement within the next couple of weeks. We are also living in a house near enough full of mud. All will now be revealed. So here goes.

I thought I would make it clear on what part of the house we a currently working on checkout the image below.

Having decided to complete one side of the house first and as you know our first hit was the master bedroom. In order to get the master bedroom completed we had to hold fire on doing anything else up there the reason was until the builders PDB had created the opening for the bi fold doors which was not an easy job. and I am sure it has caused many sleepless nights for all of us.

To start this, we have had to take up half of the flooring in the bedroom which is fine because it is all being replaced. This allows the space to get the RSJ’s in place. The house is made from River Stone so after having to take out the lower back wall it was apparent that around 18 acro’s and strong boys were required to support the back side of the cottage.

and yes it is very unusual area for a toilet to be within what was a lounge!

After the steels had been added the next step was to do the big dig out. Not everyday you can say you have had a mini digger in your kitchen !!

The reason we have had to dig down so far is due to there being a few different floor heights, we will be able to have a nice even floor within the kitchen space.

Once the dig out was complete they were able to tank around the front wall and then lay a membrane down after using a slightly stinky Wacker. To make sure its was levelled as best as possible.

So all done ready for the cement pour which will be coming in through the kitchen window.. There you have it a quick but massive update for our little cottage.

Look out for the next update soon as well as my big transition for Atom Interior Styling.

Have a great weekend folks.
